spiritsense: Quick Hi

Just wanted to say a quick 'Hi!' to all violists and viola players! It's great to see that we undervalued and overlooked musicians can stick together and have a voice! I play in a non-professional orchestra called Sinfonia of Leeds and love playing viola. Looking forward to getting in touch with other violists!

canuckwannabe: Cellist, Violinist, Violist, Dbl Bassist & More Wanted 4 All Female Band

Established Toronto based Australian female singer/songwriter looking for a pianist, acoustic/double bass, acoustic guitar, strings, brass, drums/percussion and anything else interesting for regular work from Spring/Summer 2006.

I am looking for musicians who are willing to consider being part of my regular ALL FEMALE band for future shows in folk clubs, music clubs, eco-communities, art galleries, house concerts, festival performances, recordings and more within North America, Europe and Australia.

The music incorporates folk, jazz, latin, cabaret, rock/pop and more and I am looking for players who consider themselves adventurous musicians with intermediate-advanced skills. Experience isn't im! portant, just a good attitude, work ethic and the desire to travel.

If you're looking to get rich or famous then this probably isn't the project for you but if you're in it because you want the opportunity to play and contribute to creating good music, travel the world and with some hard work and commitment make a pretty decent living then this could be what you have been looking for.

I come with loads of ideas for! music, performance, tours, travel, tasty vegetarian recipes :) and more and have strong skills in booking tours in North America, Australia and Europe that I am glad to share with my musicians.

I am a hard working, generous person who is looking for people who love music so much it's in their blood, who love the thrill of live performance, the experiences and friends gained on the road and the desire to make the world a better place through music.

I can't do this on my own and don't want to, so I am trying to find the right, creative, fun women who don't mind roughing it from time to time; who are young, vibrant, caring and who don't have too many commitments. Please also take note, this situation is for a band, not musicians to play as session players so it will be a group effort and all profits will be shared. I would like to continue using my name but would love to have a name for the band if the players involved would like that idea.

surlytart: Help! On Rebecca Clarke

Howdy... anyone reading this played Clarke's Sonata for viola and piano? I'm just now learning it and there's one passage that has me scratching my head and wishing I had a teacher still.

Anyone out there? I'm going to cross post to 'viola pride' btw.

thanks!
